Also, please notice that the K Panel along the bottom of the K desktop (Figure 4a) has morphed into something that looks lots more like the MS Windows task bar. (Figure 4b.) Another change is in the minimize, restore, and close buttons in the upper right corner of the application window. (Figure 5)

On Page 3 of the KDE wizard, (Figure 6) you have the opportunity to place icons for your floppy and CD-ROM drives on the desktop. Do it! Using floppy and CD-ROMs in Linux can be tricky for beginners. Being able to click a desktop icon to use them makes it easy.

Page 4 of the KDE wizard lets you put a printer icon on the desktop. You might as well do that too.
Finally, on Page 5 of the KDE wizard, (Figure 7) you can place some URL icons on your desktop. We added just the Caldera Web site icon.
