. .. . . . .. On Page 3 of the KDE wizard, (Figure 6) you have the opportunity to place icons for your floppy and CD-ROM drives on the desktop. Do it! Using floppy and CD-ROMs in Linux can be tricky for beginners. Being able to click a desktop icon to use them makes it easy.
Page 4 of the KDE wizard lets you put a printer icon on the desktop. You might as well do that too. Finally, on Page 5 of the KDE wizard, (Figure 7) you can place some URL icons on your desktop. We added just the Caldera Web site icon.
