Mozilla 1.0 Browser Unofficial Sneak Release

Mozilla 1.0 Sneak Release Downloading Update
The 29 May 2002 unofficial Mozilla 1.0 builds that had been put in the /mozilla/nightly/latest-1.0.0/ directory on 29 May have been replaced with builds involving Mozilla 1.0.1 development. At this stage in the Mozilla 1.0.1 development process these Mozilla 1.0.1 builds, in effect, are merely daily development builds, which means they are somewhat risky for other than development and testing purposes.
However, the 29 May Mozilla 1.0 sneak release builds still appear to be on the Mozilla Organization FTP server. Below is a list of the directories under the /mozilla/nightly directory structure that appear to contain the 29 May 2002 sneak release builds.
To download the build(s) of your choice or for your computer and operating system, simply click on the directory link above the listing of the build that you would like to download. That will take you to the listed directory on the Mozilla Organization FTP server. Then when you are in that directory, simply follow your normal downloading procedure.
Too bad the Mozilla Organization people were not thoughtful enough to leave that 29 May 2002 latest-1.0.0/ directory intact so that it would have been more convenient for people to grab those Mozilla 1.0 sneak-release builds.
Unfortunately, however, being thoughtful, polite, courteous, and cooperative do not seem to be AOL-Netscape-Mozilla attributes.
| Update Note: the official MOZILLA_1_0_RELEASE branch now has been cut. Test builds for the Mozilla 1.0 Release branch are being placed in the /mozilla/nightly/latest-1.0/ directory on the Mozilla Organization FTP server.
You should use the current test builds in the /mozilla/nightly/latest-1.0/ directory directory rather than the 29 May 2002 builds that are in the nightly build directories
These test builds are not yet the official Mozilla 1.0 shipping builds. There might be some changes between the Mozilla 1.0 test builds and the Mozilla 1.0 shipping builds. However, for all intents and purpose, if you have one of these builds you, in effect, have Mozilla 1.0. Of course when the official Mozilla 1.0 product is shipped, you ought to upgrade to that official Mozilla 1.0 shipping version.
If you want to compile your own Mozilla 1.0 test build(s), you can use the MOZILLA_1_0_RELEASE tag to pull the Mozilla 1.0 source code from the Mozilla CVS.
